Pilots Wings are awarded to personnel who are certified pilots, the award with system differs by nation and service. The United States Army and United States Air Force use three levels, most other nations only use one.

  • Graduate of pilot or helicopter training program.

  • 7 years as rated pilot, and
  • Permanent award of pilot rating.

  • 15 years as rated pilot, and
  • Permanent award of senior pilot rating.

SpaceEdit

Image Pending Army Astronaut Badge Basic

The image of the Astronaut badge is variable, depending on the previously awarded level of pilot wings.
Criteria:

  • Graduate of a pilot training program,
  • Graduate of a space pilot training program, and
  • Completed at least one successful space flight.

United States Navy, Marine Corps, & Coast Guard (Naval Aviation Badge)Edit
