Launched in February of 2028, the HMS Zealous is a BC-304 Mark 4 Daedalus-class Battlecruiser under British control. The Zealous is assigned to the Second Tactical Wing and placed under the command of Wing Commander Edward Clarkson, Royal Air Force.

Three ships in the Royal Navy have carried the name HMS Zealous, with a fourth planned but scrapped. The first was a 74-gun sailing warship launched in 1785 and served until 1816. The second was a wooden battleship that was converted to an ironclad and served from 1864 to 1875. A 1919 canceled destroyer would have borne the name, but after the conclusion of World War I, the ship's construction was canceled. The final ship was a destroyer launched in 1944 and served during World War II. After the conclusion of the war, this HMS Zealous (R39) was transferred to the Israeli Navy in July of 1955, where the name was changed to INS Eilat. It was sunk by Egyptian missile boats during the Six Day War in 1967, and served as an important milestone in naval warfare by demonstrating the effectiveness of anti-ship cruise missiles and small, agile missile ships.
