HistoryEditDakara is a planet in the Milky Way, and for potentially several million years served as a base (potentially even a capitol) of the Ancients, who built over a weapon of enormous power, capable of destroying the cohesion of molecules between them, and thus disintegrate and kill anything or otherwise some species depending on the specific frequency. But this weapon was primarily a technology that was used to create life.
The Temple of Dakara became the holiest place of religion for the Jaffa, because it was in this temple that the first Jaffa was created (and therefore it is the symbol of slavery of the people), but was also the place of their final victory over their Goa'uld overlords.
In 2004, at the height of the invasion of Replicators in our galaxy, the rebel Jaffa led by Teal'c of Chulak, Bra'tac and decided to take the Temple of Dakara assault, to prove to all that the Goa'uld Jaffa unable to grab or retain Dakara, are not gods. The oppression of Jaffa had started there and that's where it was to end. The symbolic significance of this act was immense, and the only one able to convince the most fervent. Taking the temple was not difficult for the army of Ba'al was fighting against the Replicators. It was the right moment in history to take Dakara. There was a tremendous rebound. Ba'al, against the heart, was under the command of Anubis. The latter revealed to him the existence of the weapon on Dakara Veterans. Being semi-ascended and therefore immortal, Anubis plans to destroy all life with this weapon in the galaxy, to create a new one which he would rule.
Ba'al, unwilling to be sacrificed like the others by a Goa'uld who has managed to rise by chance, he contacted Earth to reveal what he knew and ask for a contract, asking to find and destroy this weapon before Anubis forced to find it. But the double Replicator Samantha Carter knew that this was the only weapon capable of destroying the Replicators, who were ravaging the galaxy, and soon the Earth. The Replicators heard the news and made the same calculation. Dakara became the theater, on land and in space, a fierce struggle between Jaffa, Goa'uld and Replicators: the famous Battle of Dakara. Many great masters perished so absurd without the total destruction of their fleets. Most had no intention of capitulating. Meanwhile, Samantha Carter, Ba'al, and Selmak found the weapon and configured it to destroy the Replicators. This threat is finally eradicated, the Jaffa still subject realized the weaknesses of the Goa'uld and rebelled against their Goa'uld masters, who saw their empire collapsed. They were killed and some of the toughest fled (such as Ba'al).
