Jayden tensed as Brian called out, preparing herself for trouble. Her head was pounding and her knee ached, but there wasn't time to rest or even think about it. Taking a breath, she tensed, nearly jumping out of her skin as their radio crackled.

"Street Fighter One-Five, Sierra Six-Zero, is that you?" He checked again as he rounded another corner.

The call was almost unnaturally loud...and stereo! As if out of nowhere, Tools and Shifty were there, bloody, sagging, worse for the wear, but there. "Thank god," she breathed, happy to see them as she rushed forward to help with Shifty. "I lost you guys, got closed out of Engineering."

Glancing back at Brian, she asked, "Didn't we pass their MedBay a ways back? We can get patched up there, then get to the hanger?" The silence around them was almost unsettling, although welcome...maybe the resistance was over? They could only hope...

"Hey Kiddo." Tools grinned as he kept carrying Scott. "Coffin, mind helping me out, this guy isn't as light as you might think." He called.

As Coffin helped carrying, Tools looked around, "Sitrep, people. Where are our other people?" He asked worried.

Brian helped with carrying the injured man with the engineer, shifting the F2000 assault rifle's sling so that he could still shoot if he had to.

"Well, sir, to put it bluntly, they got the drop on us in the hanger, and I got separated. Now we have an unknown number of hostiles who may have seized our only way off this tin can." Brian explained, "Oh, and I took one across my left shoulder, and she got a good knock to the dome. Nothing serious, though. However, if we're all getting chewed up like this, Kells is right about the MedBay on this level. We should consider taking advantage of it before limping into a fight to retake our ride."

"This is what we're going to do." He stopped for a moment, "You're going to scout forward, see how many tango's we've got at the jumper. You are not to engage at any price, stealth is priority. I'll take Scott and Kells to the infirmary, have the soldier patched up."

Tools turned to Scott, "You're going to be Kells' escort." He started walking again, "Any questions?"

"One Sir. Not really a question either," Scott said though gritted teeth as he tugged his helmet off, "None of us, at least the four of us are in any shape to be doing, anything besides sitting here, calling the rest of 2525 back, and then proceeding forward."

Pausing he gritted his teeth as he tried to put weight on his shot up leg, to make an example, "We're combat ineffective."

"Not to mention, we have how many, Marines, Airmen, Soldiers, and Sailors on the Sovie, to muster a QRF and take back the hanger, but, if I'm gonna be overridden, just give me a new magazine and a couple happy pills and ill shut up, pull the trigger and stop thinking." He said grinning over at the grey haired Major.

"You, my friend, are combat ineffective, my and Coffin over here, we can take on the world." Tools grinned, finding some vigor left in his body, feeling the effects of older age.

He opened the door to the medbay, "But you know me, I'm old school Stargate Program, we don't wait for back up, we do the job ourselves." He grinned as he helped lift Shifty on a bed. "And yes, you are being overridden here." and stepped outside, pulling two mags from a dead body outside and walked back in. "There ya go.", he handed the munition.

"Sierra Six-Zero, this is Street Fighter One-Five, sit-rep." Tools asked as he reloaded his Steyr AUG.

Tools turned to Scott, "You're going to be Kells' escort." He started walking again, "Any questions?"

"Oh, an escort! I like that!" Jayden smiled as she kept them moving toward the medbay.

"One Sir. Not really a question either," Scott said though gritted teeth as he tugged his helmet off, "None of us, at least the four of us are in any shape to be doing, anything besides sitting here, calling the rest of 2525 back, and then proceeding forward."

He said grinning over at the grey haired Major.

"Happy pills I have," Jayden commented with a grin, taking Shifty's helmet. While she understood what he was saying, she, personally, wasn't feeling incapacitated, not that she wanted to run back into a fight any time soon.

"You, my friend, are combat ineffective, me and Coffin over here, we can take on the world." Tools grinned, finding some vigor left in his body, feeling the effects of older age.

"Braggart!" Laughing, Jayden shook her head. "Me and Shifty can do for ourselves." She was certain that once Shifty was patched up he'd be feeling a lot better.

"Sierra Six-Zero, this is Street Fighter One-Five, sit-rep." Tools asked as he reloaded his Steyr AUG.

"So, looks like we're set." Taking a minute to check and reload her own weapon, Jayden looked around. There was plenty here that she could pilfer, given a chance. "We'll stay in touch," she told the Major, "and we'll just be a few minutes behind you, shouldn't take too long to bandage him up, and I want to see what I can stuff in a pack." May as well get something for all their trouble. "Just keep your heads down." Glancing at Brian, she grinned.

"This is what we're going to do." He stopped for a moment, "You're going to scout forward, see how many tango's we've got at the jumper. You are not to engage at any price, stealth is priority. I'll take Scott and Kells to the infirmary, have the soldier patched up."

Brian took a deep breath before stepping out from under Sergeant Powers, and nodded to the Major. The PJ was not at all happy about splitting up again, but in this case, he had little room to argue, given that the Major had superiority, and that was that.

"Huah, sir. I'm on it." Brian said, against his better judgement.

"One Sir. Not really a question either," Scott said though gritted teeth as he tugged his helmet off, "None of us, at least the four of us are in any shape to be doing, anything besides sitting here, calling the rest of 2525 back, and then proceeding forward."

Brian approached the first corner, waiting for a moment, holding his F2000 across his chest.

"Sierra Six-Zero, this is Street Fighter One-Five, sit-rep." Tools asked

"Uh...still right here, sir. And begging the Major's pardon, if you're addressing me, It's Zero-Six." Brian replied.

"And give you the satisfaction of having to patch me up twice? I don't think my pride could take it." He grinned back at Jayden, "I'd rather not have to patch you up either, so take it easy, yeah?"

Without another word, he twisted around the corner, and began to retrace his steps, moving as quickly as he could without being too loud, his F2000 up and sweeping every nook and cranny, his body hunched down slightly. However, this time, no one came up to intercept him, and every corpse he had killed on his way from the hanger still laid where they fell, leading the way back like a twisted version of a trail of breadcrumbs.

Stepping around bodies and debris, the halls were eerily silent, save for what little sound he made, closing back in on the hanger, pressing his back against the wall, and slinked up to the doorway. Brian paused to crouch down and unclip his helmet, setting it down silently, and peered inside. He could see six people around the Puddle Jumper, one more pacing behind them, and three more were watching the surrounding area. He leaned back, pulling his helmet back on, and frowned.

"Sierra Zero-Six to Battleaxe, requesting status, over? How copy?" Brian whispered into his radio. "Zero-Six to Street Fighter Actual, be advised, we have at least ten hostiles in the hanger. Looks like they may be attempting to breach the ship."

Tools took over the Actual callsign, since he took lead, "This is Streetfighter Actual to Sierra-Zero-Six, draw back, hold fire, do not engage." Tools looked at Shifty, "So buddy, what's your status?" He asked as he gave him the once over.

After the answer Tools checked his rifle, released the magazine and checked that and finally checked the chamber. He slung the rifle around his shoulder and did the same with his side-arm, checking the magazine, chamber and weapon itself. "Okay, set." he said to himself.

Finally, he grabbed an energy-bar, scarfed it down and drank some water. He was waiting for Coffin to check in.

He turned to Kells, "Jayden, can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked.

"Yes, sir?" Jayden nodded to Tools, then asked, "Um, we can talk over here." She moved away to a corner where she could still keep an eye on Shifty as they talked. "What can I do for you? Well, besides patch you up, of course."

"This is Streetfighter Actual to Sierra-Zero-Six, draw back, hold fire, do not engage."

"Solid copy on all. Be advised, nothing heard from Battleaxe. Zero Six out." Brian said into his radio, before slinking back slowly from the door. Regardless of orders, the Pararescue operator still kept his F2000 leveled on the door as he backed from it, knowing full well if he was spotted, they enemy was not going to let him go just because of orders.

Once back far enough where Brian felt comfortable, he stood up, and began to make his trip back to the med-bay, once again following the trail of bodies and debris, and finding no one opposing his trip. Even still, force of habit and experience kept him on edge, still sweeping every angle carefully as he moved, though now his left arm was starting to feel more sore from the injury and continual movement. Brian clenched his teeth and mentally forced himself to push the pain aside, reminding himself that in all medical terms, he was fine.

The trip was a short one, and he found himself back at the med-bay.

Tools joined Jayden, "Look, Corporal, Shifty is a tough guy, but he took a few good hits, he wont be all that combat effective. So I need to know, will you be able to handle a combat situation full on when it comes to it?" It didn't sound all that positive but he had to know.

When he got his answer from Kells and answered appropriately he saw Coffin walking in. "Coffin, did you see any weaknesses while you were ahead?" He asked as he closed the door again.

"Aye, sir, I am combat trained." Jayden nodded grimly, although she didn't take any offense at the question. It was a legitimate concern. She'd hardly seen combat as more than a medic, and although that put her under fire, it was, she had to admit, different. "I can handle it."

When he got his answer from Kells and answered appropriately he saw Coffin walking in. "Coffin, did you see any weaknesses while you were ahead?" He asked as he closed the door again.

As she listened to the answer, Jayden started to treat Shifty's injuries, putting the dressings over his clothing for now, since there wouldn't be time to stitch anything, and besides, she wasn't qualified for that. "Hope you weren't too fond of these clothes," she quipped with a smile, "they're pretty much toast. Do you want something for pain? All I have are narcotics." Essentially sedatives, not the best to have in your system going into a fight.

Brian stepped inside to see the Major speaking briefly with Jayden before they went about their own business, with Jayden treating the Sergeant and the Major turning to face him.

"Coffin, did you see any weaknesses while you were ahead?"

"No, just the fact that between us and our friends playing crappy valet service, I think everyone else jumped ship or something, because no one did a thing to stop me to or from the hanger." Brian said, "So either they knew I was alone and had no reason to stop me so they could get all of us in one shot, or they bailed. But that's just a guess on my part."

To himself Scott grumbled something about still being able to shoot better than the Major could, even when he was broken and shot up.

"No, just another uniform down the drain, easy to replace, as for the armor, it will fix it's self so I'm told." He commented, through gritted teeth as the Medic tightened the dressing on his leg wounds, "No I'm fine, I need to be able to provide some kind of fire support, I don't want to be down and out, while I can still help."
