"Take them ou..."

Wilfred was unable to finish his sentence as a bullet went straight through his right leg. He stumbled and fell against a nearby Humvee. He soon fell to a seated position on the ground with his back against the Humvee.

"Colonel! Who the hell gave you that order?!"

"That information is classified Major." Wilfred said as he tried to stop the bleeding from his leg. "Look around you. You are killing your OWN fellow officers. Their blood is on your hands. If you can live with that then you might as well shoot me. I will not even attempt to stop you."

Wilfred stopped trying to stop the bleeding and just layed his armed by his side.

Jason glanced over at the SG10 Captain, then glared at Wilfred. More radio chatter could be heard and the gunfire briefly seemed to pause around them.

"You're one to talk, Colonel!" Felix yelled, over the HUMVEE, as he slapped a fresh magazine into his MP5. "You're the one who gave the order to open fire. We're doing our duty by not letting you." He twisted around the humvee, to open up on a marine as the unlucky jarhead knelt to collect the wounded colonel.

There was more radio chatter, luckily from Asid. Jason wasn't sure what Asid's current orders were, but he did know that the bomb was not one of them, and that was enough.

Asid gritted his teeth, as he leapt down the stairs two at a time. =^= I'm headed for the self-destruct, as it is, Thomson. =^= He glanced at Atreides and Harbour. "Well, it looks like life just loves to get difficult." He shook his head, and thumbed his radio. =^= Etearna, I have Atreides and Harbour here with me, can you do me a favor and start getting people away from the S.G.C. Perhaps, y' know, a good coupla city-blocks distance? SG's 2 and 10 should be near-by, by now, they were at the academy. RV with them, and get a move on, Major. =^=

=^= Mjolnir, are you goin g to order the chopper to retreat? =^= Jason called urgently, still avoiding using rank over the frequencies.

Not replying right away, Jason walked forward, keeping his pistol pointed at Wilfred, the other at a Marine that was approaching almost 90 degrees to the right of him, but Mark jogged forward a bit and threatened an immediate interception. "Colonel, it doesn't matter what any of us do to you!" Jason then promptly added since he figured Wilfred hadn't been listening to Asid's transmissions: "We need the chopper to get well away from the SGC ASAP else the explosion is gonna be TWICE if not three times as big as expected and we'll ALL DIE from the fray! Pick your poison, but the Captain's right, and I'd like to live thank you very much sir, and I damn well think you do too!"

=^= Etearna, we won't be hard to spot---=^= Jason opened fire with the machine gun off to his left as a Marine some few feet off to Wilfred's right attempted to fire at him. A bullet snagged the fore part of his bullet proof vest near his abdomen, and all though it stung like heck, he was able to continue to keep a look out on targets in closer proximity while finishing another transmission to Nolan. The shots almost simultaneous, Jason's return fire with the machine gun (consisting of just a few bursts) were all directed to the right thigh and hands holding the weapon. The Marine fell to the ground with a cry of pain, completely limp, and likely unconscious, if not dead-one of the bullets hit a big vein in the right thigh, and if enough blood was lost, he might be another dead Marine.

=^= We're just a couple miles out near the south side by th---=^= Jason added quickly, failing to mask a grunt of pain. =^="Humvee's, over. =^=

More Marines moved closer, but hesitated to fire as Jason began to step forward, glaring at Wilfred, so most of the firing proceeded for the other SG10 members, Sara, and Mark. "Besides, even if you refuse, as long as Asid gets the chopper taken care of, your ploy just received a big F." he added in a much colder, disappointed tone. He was clearly frustrated with Wilfred's behavior. Since he still didn't know who ordered the bomb, Jason wondered if Wilfred would have also kept the information from a higher up. He really hoped he wouldn't go that extreme. From what he'd seen here, almost all affiliated with the SGC (particularly the SG teams and officers like Asid) were regularly informed of the activities and issues at the base, even if the circulation of information wasn't always efficient. Jason kept both guns raised parallel to the ground, keeping his peripherals on the remaining Marines.

His left side throbbing, Jason tightened his grip on his weapons, really tempted to kill Wilfred right about now, but didn't just yet. The good thing is he can't move himself, he can only cry for help.

=^= How about the emergency escape hatch? Could that get you the rest of the way to the surface? =^=

One of the marines came around the corner shaking his head. "It's collapsed."

=^= No sir, it looks like the emergency way is collapse it. =^= She stopped for a moment. =^= Do we have any ships in orbit with transporters still operational? =^=

Nolan paused, mid-descent upon the hill. He undid his radio, turning to Mjolnir's channel. =^= Sir, I'll get to that at once. Etearna out.=^= He tuned the radio to a general channel. =^= This is Major Nolan Etearna. All personnel outside the Cheyanne Complex, retreat, get into vehicles if possible and move the hell out. And any SG-1 or 3 members, RV and radio your position after the blast has taken effect. Etearna out.=^= He clipped his radio back onto his belt, and was about to head out, when--

=^=Etearna, we won't be hard to spot---We're just a couple miles out near the south side by th---Humvee's, over. =^=

Nolan's eyes widened, and he turned to Miller. "Sergeant, I want you to get everyone you can the hell outta dodge. I need to get Walker and co. out of the blast zone. Just go." He set down all his weapons, shoving them into the crate. "And get those beamed back up, if you can." Pistol in his holster, he sprinted as fast as he could down the small valley, weaving around humvees as he scrabbled up the hillside.

Humvees, Humvees... He thought to himself, his eyes scanning the desert--and as soon as he caught what he was looking for, he ran. The 'pock pock pock' of a machine gun's rounds rang in his ears as he ran as fast as he could.

"Major..." Nolan breathed, as machine gun fire began to aim for him. Jason, despite his nest, had clearly been shot. He ran forwards; the machine gun's aim was getting closer to Jason. He ignored the salutes of Jason's Marines, and shoved him out of the line of fire, the machine gun slipping out of his grip.

Nolan let out a harsh groan as he fell atop Jason, his eyes watering with intense pain. Three bullets had sliced easily through his vest, and blood began to soak his fatigues.

"Major," Nolan groaned. "Major, get the hell out of here... Mjolnir started the destruct sequence, you're not far--" He coughed. "Not far enough away..."

Dolly's eyes widened, mid-stitch into a patient. Her gagging reflex had long since been shoved down, and amidst all the chaos, the yelling, the panic, she kept with the patients the whole way.

"...Colonel, Petty Officer," She spoke, looking up at them. "If the General has started the destruct sequence, what do we do?" She asked, her voice calm despite an inner turmoil of fright and rage.

"Sergeant, I want you to get everyone you can the hell outta dodge. I need to get Walker and co. out of the blast zone. Just go. And get those beamed back up, if you can."

"Yes Sir." He responded as the Major ran off. He quickly disassembled his sniper rifle enough to put it back in the case and was left with his side arm and and a MP7. He radio for the case to be beamed up and quickly ran off to see who he could find. The noncom got everyone he came across to get clear and came upon the Major Etearna.

"Major, get the hell out of here... Mjolnir started the destruct sequence, you're not far-- Not far enough away..."

Seeing blood Jake ran over to help.

Blinking, Audie looked over at her, then to Grant. "They don't know... there isn't a way to stop it, is there?" She shook her head, feeling her stomach roil. "They can't know... He can't know... if we are lost anyway, please... it would kill him to know he ordered our deaths..." Her death.

If there was no way to escape and no way to stop the sequence, Asid didn't need to know that he had essentially signed her death warrant.

Jason was still focused on Wilfred and the few of the Marines near him, but more Marines moved in as SG3 began to move out. Before the machine guns began firing off bullets this way and that at various team members again, Jason barely had time to back up from Wilfred's general area before another familiar-looking Major bolted seemingly out of no where from the other side of the Humvee's.

Seemingly almost as fast as lightning, Jason found himself on the ground, shielded by Nolan.

"Major, get the hell out of here... Mjolnir started the destruct sequence, you're not far-- Not far enough away..."

No, this couldn't be happening, not again! In Jason's mind eye, the gunfire turned into the sound of a helicopter's rotor blades snagging up on each other as it literally tripped over itself while trying to lift off the ground. The helicopter accidentally had broken into a "dynamic roll over". His squad was just about to board the the aircraft when the aircraft barely began to lift off the ground and an unexpected gust of hot wind rushed in from the south east. The wind had been highly unpredictable and very gusty, but still with in flying limits. The helicopter suddenly began quivering and rolled to the right as the pilot misjudged control of the helicopter and forced over pitching on the blades. As a result, the helicopter began to roll over to the right. The movement far too fast to react to from the gust of wind that came in a second rush, the blade tips hit the sand faster than the pilots expected, and the helicopter was unable to be saved beyond this point, and the rotor blades curled up against the speed and impact all in a split second. Pieces of metal and a few chunks from a couple of the four blades flew straight towards the squad, who immediately all reeled backwards as fast as they could.

The helicopter had lurched/turned its tail rotor towards them a bit from the excess airspeed and between it and the amount of wind, it yanked off one of the tail rotor blades as well, and one of Jason's men behind him from his left managed to shove him to the ground even though they'd both seen it coming. The tail rotor blade zipped out dangerously close to the back of the sergeant's skull...

And now, Jason had avoided getting shot through the back before it all started, yet now this happened? He stared in shock up at Nolan for a bit, the gunfire still echoing in his years. =^= Caffrey! Cover us! =^= He barked urgently, his weapons not far from him. All though they weren't far from him, taking just a moment more to reach for one of them and fire could mean another loss if luck was against them.

Groaning from the pain that flared up his side from the bullet grazes and the impact from hitting the ground, Jason carefully tried to help Nolan to his knees. He saw another vaguely familiar face (Jake Miller) rush over, but he didn't do much more than briefly glance that way for just a moment.

Nolan's bullet proof vest was clearly torn up from so many bullets, he feared that sitting him up right completely would be really painful, but there was only so much that could be done if they were both going to be beamed up or dragged out of there alive.

Luckily, the numbers of the 'enemy' Marines were dwindling off, but at a slow rate.

Lieutenant Mark Hampton rushed over, firing at two more Marines pursuing him from behind Jason. "Major Etearna!" he shouted, clearly worried about the SG3 commander's situation. "Help me drag him to the Hummer, Hampton!" Jason said, looking up and back at him. He then turned his attention back to Nolan as they tried to help him, already prepared for the possibility that he would be screaming at them not to move him any second now. "Etearna, you still with me? You're going wherever we go!" he shouted as a few more gun shots went off. There was no way Jason was going to let Nolan stay behind just because he couldn't move-he would risk getting caught in the explosion if he couldn't get transported out in time. There were Humvee's right near him, they could put him in the back of one, and Jason was going to make sure it happened-they were close to the Humvee as it was!

Mark himself swayed a bit as a few bullets snagged the back of his vest. He had been doing all right damage wise, but he had snags in his clothes, and a few grazes like Jason's as well. This was getting to be pretty bad, and the bomb just added to the fun.

"Who all is getting beamed up, if anyone?" Mark asked with as much urgency as there was present in Jasons's voice. He did not like the idea of racing out of here, but he'd go along for the ride if there was no other quicker way out. To think that way back when that kind of travel wasn't possible, and the Stargate was just someone's imagination, but not any more, it was nice to have the option!

Nolan tried not to cry out in pain as he was lifted by Jason, his arm outstretching to clutch around his waist, doing his best to support himself--when out of the distance came Miller. His eyes narrowed. Damned fool... He thought, somehow admiring his courage at the same time. "Sergeant!" He roared out, letting his inner anger and pain out. "Get your ass into a humvee, and stay out of--" Nolan coughed, painfully, blood dribbling across his chin, from his mouth. "--god--Stay out of trouble...!" He began to cough, tears beginning to fall down his cheeks--

As gunfire roared around him; not bullets, no, but the discharge of plasma beams from the Lantean Beam Rifle (LBR). He knew that noise, having been through the gunfire for years now; having fired it himself. And in the distance, he heard his comrade scream out. "Araliin?!" Nolan called. "Araliin, where are--"

"Major Etearna!"

"Help me drag him to the Hummer, Hampton! Etearna, you still with me? You're going wherever we go!"

"Yeah," Nolan spoke, deeply touched by their courage. Tears from pain and emotion began to trail down his cheeks--something he'd generally be able to hide, but the memories... Focus. He thought, firmly. "Yes. Thank you." He spoke, gritting his teeth as he was laid into the humvee.

"Don't make me too comfortable... get as many in here as you can..." Nolan spoke, coughing up a fit.

"Who all is getting beamed up, if anyone?"

"Everyone inside the complex." Nolan said, firmly. "No one will die, but you have to get out of here--now. He's likely--" Nolan coughed. "Likely blocked off the offending Marines' channels... a lot of them will die."

=^= Cafferey! Cover us! =^=
Sara didn't have time to reply as she sniped one of the snipers before turning her gaze back towards the humvee's.

Quickly she lined up a shot of a marine who was getting just a little too close to Jason's humvee. Smoothly she shot a bullet straight through the marine's head, watching with cold satisfaction as he slumped down dead.

Through the scope Sara watched Jason tend to the obviously wounded Nolan Etearna. Seconds later she watched Jacob Miller approaching their position as well.

By this time it was obvious that a few marines were gathering together, preparing to rush the humvee's. Toggling her radio Sara said =^= Sir I suggest you leave ASAP, Marines converging on all sides. I can hold them off for now, but not forever. Once you are clear I can take the remaining humvee. =^=

Sara was forced to cut her transmission short when she heard a twig snapping right behind her. Whirling around she saw a young USAF boy, looking like he had barely gotten out of Basic.

The boy held a 9mm pistol pointed directly at Sara's head. "Whoa kid...you don't want to do that. Drop the gun, walk away and neither of us gets hurt." Sara said calmly.

The boy shook his head; obviously torn been shooting a fellow officer and following orders. "I... I can't do that ma'am. Our orders are to arrest SG-2 and SG-10. If I can only bring in one of you then so be it."

Sara didn't want to shoot the child, but she couldn't allow herself to be arrested either. "Neither of us has to die tonight." Sara insisted, slowly raising her arms as she got on to her knees, making sure to stay low so she herself wouldn't get sniped.

"Get up!" The boy ordered, motioning with his gun. ~With pleasure!~ Sara thought to herself. Quickly she leapt at the boy, slamming in to him just as his gun went off.

"Sergeant! Get your ass into a humvee, and stay out of-- --god--Stay out of trouble...!"

"Sorry Sir, I can't do that." He said wrapping his arms around the other man he help Major McCallister move him to the cover of a humvee. Jake swallowed hard seeing the tears in the other man's eyes. He may not have know the officer long but Jake doubted Nolan cried very often if at all, and never in public.

"You'll be fine sir, just a flesh wound." He lied as the medic did what he could to stop the bleeding.

As Jason heard Sara's urgent suggestion, Mark beat Jason into replying on the radio. Jason ran to the front of the Humvee to drive. =^=Caffrey, I suggest you start moving out, because we are!=^=

"I'll drive until we're clear or whenever we get beamed up," he said quickly, starting the engine as Mark bolted for the Humvee, firing at marines as he went. =^=SG10 and SG3 should get to the Humvee's ASAP,=^= Jason advised on their frequency, hoping SG10 would do the same promptly, though it sounded more like an order.

Mark was covered by Sara and perhaps a few others from SG10 for now, but he wouldn't be for long. As he began bolting for the passenger's seat of the Humvee Jason was going to drive, another bullet snagged his vest with a sharp whistle, and he cringed upon realizing how damn lucky he was. His vest was no longer in tip top condition, so the sooner he got out of there, the better. Jason popped open the door for him, and Mark literally dove for the passenger's seat. Scrambling into a proper sitting position, he dropped the weapon, and shut the door. Rolling down window, he fired at more marines.

Jason glanced at Mark and couldn't help but think that if his guns weren't on the ground and he wasn't focused on getting them out of there, he'd be doing that too. Please hurry, Sara, there should still be room in the Humvee's if you can move in time. he thought as he began to back up the Hummer once all the doors were shut. "We'll wait a bit longer for Caffrey, if she has to she can take another vehicle with SG10," He gripped the steering wheel anxiously. They couldn't sit here for long-he didn't want this vehicle getting too many bullets in the wrong places.

"Major, we can't fit everyone. We can fit most of us." Felix scratched at his jaw, quietly. "I'd recommend you and SG-2 take a humvee, fit as many in back as possible. Drive down. SG-10 will grab what's left of SG-3 and take the other humvee." He paused, to stare back at the SGC. "I'll stay behind, see if I can find anyone else bugging out."

Asid Mjolnir

"Captain Atreides, hit the detonators." Asid ordered, as he kicked through a half-melted door. "We need to kill the anti-beaming field, which are tied to the generators." He paused, to stare over the smoke-stained wall, before he tapped his headset, speaking as he entered into chamber holding the self destruct. =^= Someone pass the word, in exactly ten minutes, I need any ship in orbit to beam as many people as possible out. This is non-negotiable, this needs to be passed along. I'm going to hit the self destruct, and maybe babysit it. =^= Asid closed his eyes, before he opened them, and began the steps to arm the bomb. "Captains, flip a coin, which of you wants to help arm the bomb?" He asked, as he walked to one end.

Marcus JacobsM/center>

Marcus winced, as he heard the message from the general. With a shaking hand, he looked over the rest of SGs 14 and 16, and SecTeam-Delta. With a sigh, he tapped his radio. =^= Jacobs to SG-1. Relay from the general to orbit, or at least ground level to relay further, beam as many people as possible out in...=^= He paused to consult his watch. =^= 9 minutes and 48 seconds. =^=

Sara groaned and opened her eyes. What the heck just happened? She heard shouting and continued fire and a voice... somewhere close by only it wasn't.

=^=... you start moving out, because we are!=^=

~What?~ Sitting up Sara saw a 9 mm pistol laying on the ground beside the still body of a USAF guy. It was then that the memories came flooding back to her. The attempt to arrest her...charging at the boy...the gun shot...the gun shot?!

Immediately Sara looked down and checked herself over, shocked to see a red stain on her uniform. The bullet had just missed the vest. It had entered in just below her right arm, in a downward arc. Feeling her left side Sara felt the exit wound just above her hip.

~Well... still alive... it obviously missed the heart...~ Sara thought to herself. Gently rising to her feet, she toggled her radio.

=^= Don't wait on me sir, if you have to go then go. I'll get another humvee.=^= That said Sara started off again, but not before picking up the 9mm weapon. She left the treeline and made a beeline for the humvee's.

"Captain Atreides, hit the detonators. We need to kill the anti-beaming field, which are tied to the generators.

Kurt immediately starting thinking about what was needed to accomplish this. The detonators weren't set, and to bring down the ABF (anti-beaming field) they had to be placed...

"Captains, flip a coin, which of you wants to help arm the bomb?"
Kurt looked from Asid to Samual and back. "Go on Captain Harbour, I need to set the detonators on Level 23 and and Level 9 in order to kill the anti-beaming field. Sir," Kurt focused on on Asid, "I'll get the anti-beaming field down within 8 minutes."

Turning, Kurt jogged out of the room, making a beeline for the generators.

"Go on Captain Harbour, I need to set the detonators on Level 23 and and Level 9 in order to kill the anti - beaming field. Sir," Kurt focused on on Asid, "I'll get the anti-beaming field down within 8 minutes."

Sam watched Kurt run off and then turned to Asid, "Well I guess that leaves us to set the self-destruct." Sam said before both him and Asid started to make their way towards the self-destruct.

"We need the chopper to get well away from the SGC ASAP else the explosion is gonna be TWICE if not three times as big as expected and we'll ALL DIE from the fray! Pick your poison, but the Captain's right, and I'd like to live thank you very much sir, and I damn well think you do too!"

"I can't tell them to stand down if I was not the one that ordered it in." Wilfred said as he tried to get to his feet but failed trying. "And I know the General will not be able to stop it."

Wilfred crawled over to a radio laying on the ground. =^= All forces, evacuate. =^=

<center>Robert Thomson

=^= Do we have any ships in orbit with transporters still operational? =^=

=^= Try and see if you can contact the Victory or the Aurora. =^= Robert said before focusing on Marcus..

"SG's 14, 16, and Security Team Delta are here, where you want us?"

"Head towards the surface, that is an order. Get as far up as you can. Hopefully we will get beaming options from the Victory or the Aurora. I have got to head to the self-destruct." Robert said before he ran down the corridor towards the base self-distinct. He had to stop the General from activating it. He shot any mutated ancients that got in the way. He finally saw the General and Captain Harbour at the self-destruct at the end of the corridor.

"Don't activate it!" Robert yelled as he ran down the corridor. "Don't do it, it is only going to make things worse!"

Adam Grant

"...Colonel, Petty Officer," She spoke, looking up at them. "If the General has started the destruct sequence, what do we do?" She asked, her voice calm despite an inner turmoil of fright and rage.

Blinking, Audie looked over at her, then to Grant. "They don't know... there isn't a way to stop it, is there?" She shook her head, feeling her stomach roil. "They can't know... He can't know... if we are lost anyway, please... it would kill him to know he ordered our deaths..."

"Okay, we need to get everyone moving now. Get as close to the surface as we can. It will give us a chance that a ship in orbit would be able to beam us out." Adam said trying to take command of the situation. "I bet that is what the General is planning."

"The corridor is clear."

"We should go now, help the injured that can walk. We need to go now or we are died."
