Larissa Koralov - August 9, 2012 07:02 AM (GMT) ON

Atlantis, P1X-000 Living Quarters, Pier 3

Larissa had adjusted quite well to living on Atlantis. While the weather was a bit chilly, it was no more worse than she had endured with winter in Moscow, and she rather enjoyed it. It had been a bit of a surprise to her that upon her return, she had been informed of that she was now in command of AE-2. After the first time out, she had come to trust Kovac and Kruger, regarding them both highly as excellent soldiers, heavy hitters ideal for fighting the war the Brotherhood was forcing onto them.

Morning brought the beginning to her morning routine, before calling her two shooters in for muster, which was part of her education in the art of Systema martial arts. Following in the teaching of Ryabko's Systema, founded by a former Russian Army Colonel, Larissa took to the practice of dousing herself in a bucket of cold water every morning, which many still viewed as not particularly fun, but she felt revitalized. Once more, she stood out on the balcony near her quarters, setting the robe and towel she put on immediately afterwards, and picked up the plastic bucket of water, dumping it over herself, soaking her loose-fitting T-shirt and running slacks. The sudden chill snapped her senses to bear better than anything else, before she grabbed the robe and pulled it on, toweling off her hair as she walked back inside.

Certianly, today was going to be another day of PT, patrols and learning the ropes of living in Atlantis, but it was almost relaxing. Not enough that she didn't crave some sort of action, but it was helping her psyche a good deal.

Control Room, Atlantis Ensign Kyle Raymond, US Navy

Kyle looked at his watch, waiting for the time to finally come when the graveyard shift was officially over, and he could get some chow and hit the bunk. He had served as a radar operator on the USS Ticonderoga before going to space, pulling a sensor operator post on the USS Phobos before finally getting kicked to Atlantis. And his career was going absolutely nowhere with the task of sitting through the graveyard shift, staring at a screen that rarely ever changed.

Rarely did not mean never, and today, it did change. A faint blip. Kyle leaned forward, as the blip disappeared.

"Huh?" Kyle watched the monitor again. The blip faded in just for a second again, and then back out.

"Hey, is this right? I've got a hit on scope, but...it's inside the shield. That can't be right...right?" Kyle asked his supervisor.

"Dunno. Lots of folks have been playing with the sensors lately. I'll see if Commander Rayner knows, he's probably waking up now. Might want to check with Doctor Tennant, too. I know we've had some weird hits with something here since we landed." The civilian replied.

"Oh yeah...might call Doctor ap Owain too, then, I think he was the first to find them." Kyle mentioned, as he continued to watch the blip. It wasn't consistent, nor was it in the same spot at any one time, but it was airborne, and it was inside the shield.

In the meantime, Rayner, Tennant and ap Owain were all called to the Control Room to see if they could lend their expertise to the mystery. It was probably nothing, but one rarely made such assumptions and lived on Atlantis.

Adam Coburn - August 9, 2012 04:17 PM (GMT) -ON-

Adam was not feeling well today, most likely because of the last meal he ate, so he decided to visit the infirmary. He woke up with a nice headache in his quarters. He took a shower, got dressed, put on his comm ear thingy and holstered his gun to his leg holster than he got out.

He walked slowly to the infirmary he still found the planet change sort of weird as he looked outside.

Getting to the infirmary he found a doctor and tapped his shoulder "Hello" Coburn said.

"Well hello" doctor replied and added "i assume you have a problem ?"

"Yeah" Coburn said "I'm not feeling that well, i think something i ate upset my stomach" and sat on a bed

"Hmm, wait here" doctor said and turned away to go to a cupboard to take a pill and he come back "Alright drink this and you'll be fine in half an hour, and just stay away from chicken or fish today oh and milk"

"Thanks doc" getting up he started walking to the control room to find something to do.

Doctor Carson Tennant Control Room, Main Tower Atlantis, P1X-000

"What is it now?" Carson said as he walked into the control room. For weeks he had been getting pulled from work to work trying to solve problems throughout the city. All of this had started from when they landed on this planet. He had warned Rayner before and they were still picking up the scraps that he had caused.

He knew that there was cuts to the expedition coming up. Still had some friends on Earth that kept him in the loop at what was happening at Homeworld Command. Sadly there was no plans to remove Commander Rayner from the Expedition. Carson was hoping for a new Chief of Engineering but from what he was hearing that was not happening.

Aaron managed to get some sleep between repair shifts and the city was slowly getting mended back to its former glory. He hated that Carson couldn't see that he was ordered to land the city on P1X-000 and the two continued to develop tension between them.

It didn't seem to be something that they could sort out and the punching Carson in the jaw didn't help matters so Aaron had to accept it. He hoped the two could find a way to become friends once more.

He entered the control room a little after Carson did and didn't make any attempt to speak with the scientist. Aaron went to Kyle. "You called Ensign?"

"Well, sirs, we've been getting some weird sensor hits. Like it's fading in and out." Kyle said, indicating to the screen, "And they're inside the shield."

The sensors continue to show intermittent hits popping up in the air at random points over the city's piers, but none of them seem to be moving.

"Doctor. Commander. We called you because we were not sure if there were any sort of issues with the sensors that we were unaware of. We also called Doctor ap Owain because he had found some wierd hits when we first landed here." The graveyard shift supervisor added.

"I know Owain had issues with the sensors but I thought they had been fixed." Carson said as he glared at Rayner before looking back at the Ensign. "I will get a science team to work on it. It will most likely be nothing. I will check it myself just to be sure Ensign."

Carson looked to see is Osian was actually about as he was the one that had been using the sensors most recently from his science teams so he would want to double check that it was a computer problem.

Mister Nicholas Bishop Main Tower Atlantis, P1X-000

Nick was walking doing the corridors as he stretched his legs. He had been in the labs most of the day. Having to listen to all the ranting from Doctor Tennant about the failures of systems being Commander Rayner's fault. It was growing a bit old now, mainly as it seemed to be mentioned at least once ever ten minutes when he was in the room.

As he walked down the corridor he was Adam Coburn, a member of AE-1 that he had not really had much time to talk to because of the work around the city.

"Anything exciting happening Adam?" Nick asked as he walked towards Coburn. He might as well try get to know his team mate at some point.

"Food poisoning is never the nicest thing to have. Had it a few times many years ago but now Ta'Kin deals with it if it arises." Nick said he looked at Adam. "And I have nothing exciting going on would you believe. Finally out the lab to stretch my legs."

"It is good just to get away from Doctor Tennant's rants about Commander Rayner. It honestly has to be brought up at least once every ten minutes when he is in the room." Nick explained to Adam as they walked down the corridor continuing Adam's walk to the control room. "Not a day seems to go by when there is not a problem with one of the systems. Well at least the heating is still working ok as without that we could be in quite a difficult situation with the weather outside."

"Understood, sir." Kyle replied with a nod. It was no mystery about the chafing between Tennant and Rayner, and it was just easier to avoid that confrontation and not take sides. "I'll keep an eye on the sensors and report any changes."

Well now the graveyard shift was getting interesting...just a shame that it came at the end of the shift...

Senior Lieutenant Larissa Koralov

Larissa decided to postpone PT, as she changed into her BDUs, today opting for her Multicam uniform. Once equipped with her sidearm and knife, she headed to the nearest transporter to head to the main tower. After a brief flash, the doors slid open, and she stepped out into the corridor, spotting Bishop and Coburn and fell into step with them.

"Good morning, sir." Larissa nodded to Coburn, "And good morning to you Mister Bishop, and to Ta'kin, as well. How are you all doing today?"

Atlantis----
Firing Range----

Since their return to Atlantis, Osian had been helping with the repairs to the city, but also some of his projects had arrived from Earth. He didn't trust some of them coming through the gate and other weren't ready to go when he left. In the little spare time he had, he had been working on one of his latest. He had been testing it down the firing range. He had left his radio with the armoury officer so had not heard the call for him to go to the Control Room. The armoury officer approached him and tapped him on the shoulder. Jumping a mile, he turned to face her and took off his ear defenders. "Yes?" he asked, slightly angrily at the thought of being disturbed. "Doctor, you have been called to the Control Room." With a look of shock, he quickly, but patiently placed the weapon in it's case. "Could you store that for me dear. Make sure no one has access to it." Taking his radio off her, he dashed out of the room.

Control Room----

Running up the stairs, he saw that Rayner and Tennant were already there. "What we got?" Before any one could respond, he looked at the screen. "Okay, that can't be good." Grabbing a seat at a neighbouring console, he began to tap away. "Okay, I know the sensors aren't one hundred per cent. But I can't get a clear reading on them." He rubbed his chin. "Right now, for all we know, it could be an albatross." Changing his gave, he looked straight forward before looking towards Rayner. "I have no military experience, but given that we have an unknown 'bogey', shouldn't someone be in the chair?"

As they continued to walk the doors slid open, and Koralov stepped out into the corridor, spotting Bishop and Coburn and fell into step with them. "Good morning, sir." Larissa nodded to Coburn, "And good morning to you Mister Bishop, and to Ta'kin, as well. How are you all doing today?"

"Morning Larissa" Coburn said with a nod "Nothin much we've been talking about food poisoning and city's system failure with the addition of Tennant's rants for Rayner as Nick told me so just normal stuff" he said with a grin and continued "How about you ?"

As they entered the control room Coburn saw some people gathered around a screen being curious he asked "Wonder whats going on there"

Ensign Kyle Raymond, USN

Raymond listened to Doctor ap Owain, but let the Australian Commander handle answering him, since that decision was well above his pay grade, and instead looked to the display, the blips still fading in and out, but now it seemed like that they were appearing to show up over the same three points, although they were not showing up in any sort of pattern. One appeared to be holding between Pier One and the Central Tower, another was holding over Pier Three, and the third was holding over the central core just north of Pier Five.

Just to be sure, Raymond also brought up the orbital sensors, checking for any space contacts, but there was nothing in orbit or approaching local space, and nothing was showing as irregular by the sensors.

"Negative contacts or pings in orbit, so those sensors are at least good. I can pull up a diagnostic on the sensor grid if you want, sirs." Raymond offered.

Senior Lieutenant Koralov

"Morning Larissa. Nothin much we've been talking about food poisoning and city's system failure with the addition of Tennant's rants for Rayner as Nick told me so just normal stuff. How about you ?"

"Oh god, Doctor Tennant. Who hasn't heard about his rants?" She laughed, and looked to Bishop, "I'm sorry, you probably have to endure them first hand. You both have my sympathy."

"And if we're dealing with food poisoning, maybe we need to push a transfer for my brother, Dmitry. I swear, if that man had sense enough to leave the Army and open a restraunt, he'd be rich as hell by next year. I think he inherited all of the culinary genes in the family. Natalia can handle herself, but me? Thank god the Army handles cooking food for me, because I would be screwed." The Russian Lieutenant shook her head.

"Anyways, I'm giving another free day to Kruger and Kovac, they've done well, and no sense in sticking to the same grind all the time. A little free time is good now and then. But in the meantime, I thought I'd swing by the control center, check the threat board, and then breakfast." Larissa shrugged, "Might even head over to the rec area, maybe even do some sparring if there's any takers. I've been toying with holding classes in Systema, my primary martial arts training, gauging interest right now, if either of you want to learn. It's actually pretty individualized stuff, so it doesn't have to be the full-on stuff I learned in Spetznaz."

Aaron Rayner - August 18, 2012 05:24 AM (GMT) on

~It appears that we have some unexpected guests,~ Aaron thought as he watched the blips on the display. He wondered what they were and found it annoying that the city's sensors hadn't been able to get a good lock on them.

The Australian tapped his radio. "Rayner to Jumper pilots, I need three jumpers outside now. You're to fly above the city and 'look' for anything out of the ordinary." He emphasized the word look as to make it clear that they should use their eyes not their sensors.

=Aye,= one answered. =Understood,= the second pilot replied. =Rodger that,= said the final pilot.

Aaron turned to Raymond. "Check with the city computer and see if you can match any of the sensor readings about these blips with anything in the database Ensign," the only problem was that the blips were inside the shield radius and since it was not active, raising it was counterproductive.

"Who has strong ATA Genes here and chair experience?" Aaron asked all those assembled. "It looks like we may need to defend ourselves and I'd rather be ready."

Korin Leonard - August 19, 2012 10:24 PM (GMT) OOC: I do apologize for my absence in the previous mission, but I suppose it is time to make myself more...useful than last time.

ON

Corridor - En Route to Control Room Atlantis, P1X-000

Korin balanced himself out every time he had to put his weight into the crutches and into his left leg. Walking right beside him was Colonel Jakob Balnor, who Korin was doing his best, and a good job at it, to keep up with Jake's pace, even though he was just walking and Korin was...crutch walking.

"Can't believe I got shot in the fraking leg." Korin growled as they got closer to the Control Room.

Jake chuckled and shrugged his shoulders, "It happens to anyone who hasn't been in a combat situation for...over a year? But at least it was your leg! Any higher and the doctors would of had a hard time figuring out if you were a man anymore."

Korin shook his head, "I've been in many combat situations long before I retired, and a few more before I retired again. It should of been easy as riding a bike, something you never forget."

"Unless you ended up diagnosed with amnesia." Jake joked.

Korin rolled his eyes before looking at the man as they entered the gate room, Korin taking it easy up the small number of steps onto the departure area, before working his way up the many steps to reach the control room. "Aren't you suppose to be heading back to Earth?"

Jake sighed, "Yeah, quite frankly I'm suppose to be returning to the ship in a few minutes to do just that. Unless, of course, the Acting Commanding Officer or Executive Officer happens to request the Defiant to stay a little longer. If they do, then I am sure Homeworld Command won't get too cranky if I'm late to report in."

Korin chuckled as they, rather he, made it to the control room, Korin letting out a sigh of relief before grabbing a computer tablet off the top of one of the consoles. "Ah ha, I knew I left this somewhere." Korin said before handing it to Jake.

Jake took it with a small frown, "What is it?"

"My report to Homeworld Command. Honestly, if they expect me to make monthly reports, they will sadly be disappointed if it takes you almost just as long to make a trip from Earth to Atlantis, and then back. About two weeks here, then two weeks back, if you don't mind me not being exactly accurate." Korin then overheard Rayner's request for someone strong in the ATA Gene area, and Ancient Chair experience. "If you do head back to Earth in a few minutes,"

Jake nodded his head, "I'll be sure to give them your report. Any good news?"

Korin grinned, "Only thing I can say is that the one who carried out the operation, and the entire team who operated are to be commended, and that those who are funding this expedition are smart, and remarkable people."

Jake chuckled, "Sucking up to the bosses already?"

Korin shook his head, his grin still there. "Just keeping this place alive, as it should be." Korin then turned his attention to Rayner. "If you're looking for someone in those specific areas you just requested, I like to volunteer for the job. I've served on Atlantis many times over, and used the chair plenty of times. That alone should say enough about my gene strength."

Jake stood there, waiting to see if Defiant be requested to stay a little longer or not. "Hey Korin, if you join another combat team, make sure you don't get shot again."

Korin balanced himself out on the left crutch and left leg before waving the right crutch at Jake. "Watch it you, before I club you and send you to the infirmary." Korin grinned before placing the crutch back down to even his balance.
