"Walker, Be sure to be on the look out for side passages, pipelines, anything a Wraith might crawl out of as a surprise."

"Already on it ma'am." He replied, they might be the same rank but as XO she was still his boss. "The power signature should just be around this corner. No change in the life signs, I'm still detecting 15 life signs."

AE-1 were still at the front of the group. Hearing that there was 15 lifesigns meant that there could be a lot off shooting and at close range. Jack's M249 was not designed for close range but did have a lot of bullets. The rest of AE-1 apart from Rachel had better weapons for the situation.

"Sir, recommend that those who take point use non lethal weapons. They could be something other then Wraith, or Wraith with hostages." Walker said to the Colonel as the team held it's position before moving towards the power source and unidentified life forms. "Also I'd recommend that Mister Rayner target our location with drones, if we're unsuccessful the explosion would likely take care of any Wraith remaining."

"Negative, Major. What happens if we can't get through to Rayner? Also, lethal weapons. We can't take the chance of a regular stunner not just annoying them. These might be like the Wraith who was forced to feed on it's brethren.* If they can't trust a human food supply, they will turn on each other and feed." Jon turned to AE-3. "Cough up your C4, all of you." As the assorted troopers took their C4 from the assorted hiding places, and handed it over, Jon began plastering it to the walls, strategically. "Deadman switch. We get hit, two minute countdown. Hit the button to reset to two minutes." He held up the detonator, so all the teams could see. Quietly he passed the detonator to Walker, and took out a small antenna-like object, which, after a moment of glancing about, he attached to a metal pipe sticking out of the concrete, and plugged into his radio. "Ground-sending amplifier. I forget the proper name, but you get the idea, it uses the metal present in the sewers... etc." He turned and tapped the radio. =^= Rayner, this is Tenjin, we're setting a deadman switch. Please be advised of a potential cave in. If the tunnels do cave in, evac to Atlantis, and come back with a unit. Do a quick search, any hostiles and you pull out. Copy, over? =^=

Walker nodded as he accepted the detonator from the Colonel. He had to adjust his rifle slightly to allow him to still be able to shoot, but keep the detonator depressed. The waited for Rayner's replied before finally heading around the corner.

Aaron was prepping a jumper for the return trip back to the planet and a knock at the small ship's hatch caught the Engineer's attention. He looked back to see a woman. "Hello," he greeted.

Ford had heard that a few members of the off world team had returned. When she heard more about the situation she grabbed a medical back pack, filled with enough stuff to almost perform surgery. She moved towards the Jumper.

"Hello Lieutenant. Doctor Samantha Ford reporting for duty." Ford said. "I was supposed to go with you when you originally left, but I was stuck in surgery." She added.

Surprised that no-one told the teams that the doctor was meant to go with them Aaron smiled. "Welcome aboard, I take it you are ready to go? We may have wounded."

The Australian recalled the battle with the Wraith before returning to the city to get a Jumper. "Although nothing life threatening I should hope. Let's go." Aaron powered up the Jumper and opened the hatch that leads to the Gateroom.

"Every time a team goes through the gate, I expect wounded Lieutenant." She said stepping into the Jumper. "And yes I am ready." She added, placing her bag down. She entered the front compartment of the ship and took a seat at the front, next to the pilot seat. As Chief Medical Officer, she could ‘pull rank’ on the others and grab the seat first.

This wasn’t her first time in a jumper. The Iron Duke had one, which it used from time to time when beaming wasn’t an option or they needed to travel through the gate. She didn’t have the gene and she didn’t want it. When she read up on the time the chair was used, she felt that she didn’t want that responsibility.

Aaron knew she was right and nodded as he lowered the Jumper into position just outside the Stargate's watery whoosh range. He wasn't sure what to call it exactly and dialed the planet's address; a moment later the control room gave the go ahead and once the wormhole established Aaron piloted the Jumper in.

Planet: Current Time

Once the planetary scan was complete Aaron warned the teams that there was a dozen Wraith on the surface and a power signature underground.

=^= Copy that, Rayner. Want to do a fly by, see if there's anything else anywhere? =^=

"Aye sir." Aaron replied as he continued to pilot the Jumper around the surrounding area of the ruined city.

=^= Rayner, see if you can map out the tunnels, or get a map of them. AE's 1, 3, and 5 are going to be out of contact maybe, when we go underground. We'll try to check in every... five minutes. Copy? Over. =^=

"Working on it, sir." Aaron replied but he was having a little difficulty due to what minerals the tunnels were in. "Colonel, I've brought Doctor Ford with me, does anyone need medical attention?"

=^= Rayner, this is Tenjin, we're setting a deadman switch. Please be advised of a potential cave in. If the tunnels do cave in, evac to Atlantis, and come back with a unit. Do a quick search, any hostiles and you pull out. Copy, over? =^=

Aaron was a little on edge. "Copy, I repeat I brought Doctor Ford with me. Is anyone in need of medical attention?" He called.

Sam sat there quietly as Rayner spoke to the others. She had not had not been on Atlantis long and had not had chance to meet a lot of people. When she arrived, she was shown to her quarters and was informed she was going to join the teams on a mission soon.

She chose to leave the unpacking until later and headed for the medical bay. As she walked in though, she had just introduced herself to a nurse when one of the scientists was rushed in. "What happened?" Sam called. "He was working on some device when it went up in his face." A medic replied. Rushing him under the scanner, Sam could see that he needed surgery and fast. He first thought was to the patient, not the mission.

Back to the here and now, Sam had brought up the HUD and was scanning the tunnels, trying to pick something up. When Rayner asked if anyone required Medical assistance, Sam prayed no one did.

Jon tugged the sling of his rifle nervously, as he heard the radio chatter. =^= Not at this time. Be on stand-by, however. Going out of radio contact... now. =^= Jon pulled the receiver away from the piping, and glanced around. "AE-1, advance. All other teams, follow suit." With that, he followed a foot or two behind the last member of AE-1.

As the teams advanced into the tunnels, they became increasingly more damaged. The tunnels also morphed, in the design, becoming less and less Ancient, and more and more wraith. A fog was trapped as they descended, and it slowly rose up, as they descended. First it was around their legs, then their waists, and next over their heads. "Typical wraith fog." Jon muttered, irately. It was another couple minutes of walking, till they all entered a massive circular chamber, with drop-offs to either side around a single walkway in the center, that branched off to various other tunnels.

"So which way now Sir?" Walker asked the Colonel as they regrouped. He looked at the scanner which wasn't much help. "The power signature is no longer registering as a distinct localized source. It's... all around us." The Canadian Major reported.

"Major Etearna." Jon grunted, ignoring Walker's question for a moment. "Lead a team to the left. AE-3." He glanced down to the left, over the glowing trench that encircled the center pillar that was the floor. His eyes could barely pierce the gloom, despite the soft blue glow that hung in the air. "Captain Roberts. Your team goes right. Major Walker, your team, AE-2, and I will continue straight." He paused to glance at the assembled teams. "Radio contact, every four minutes." He glanced straight at Walker. "Does this answer your question, Major?"

"Does this answer your question, Major?"

"Yes, Sir." Walker said taking several steps forward. "Anderson, you take point." He instructed his XO, the USAF Lieutenant. Jason looked around a bit as the teams got situated and ready to move out. The tunnels were creepy, dark, cold and the fog made it seem like some half dead wraith was going to grab you by the ankles and pull you into the dark abyss.

Rosa gave a gentle grunt as she led AE-3 down the foggy corridor, with twisted honeycombs engraved in the walls, becoming less and less industrial as webs seemed to catch onto Rosa's flashlight.

Shadows seemed to creep up to her, every which way she looked. Shaking her head, she tried to look past the illusion--which didn't work so well for Sgt. Willis, who was promptly shot and paralyzed. Rosa knelt down, AE-3 following suit as a hail of MAW and zat shot and killed the approaching wraith.

Rosa didn't even turn. "Medic, get topside and under cover with Willis and radio contact if there's an emergency. The rest of you, follow suit." She whispered, before standing straight and heading forwards into the foggy corridor.

Sam wasn't getting very far with mapping the tunnels. They were quite deep. She stopped in her tracks and looked at Rayner. "Take me down. I've just got a feeling" Sam said. As the Jumper neared the ground, he got up and grabbed he back pack and walked towards the hatch.

So as the hatch hit the ground, Sam dashed out and over to the tunnel entrance. The medic was just pulling Willis out. "Lay him down here" Sam said, pointing behind some rocks. "What happened?" Sam asked as Willis was laid down. "Wraith stunner ma'am." The medic said. She checked his pulse then, using a pen torch from her pocket, Sam checked his eyes. "He'll be fine. Slight bruise on his head where he's banged it. But otherwise fine." Sam said as she made him comfortable. "Go on, rejoin the team. I'll radio if I need help." Sam said looking at th Medic.

After the Medic left, Sam knelt by the rock watching for anything. =/\= Ford to Rayner, give us a heads up if anyone comes this way would you. =/\= She asked. She didn't like being in the open, but she didn't want to be to far away. Sam felt it was about to get hot.

"Captain Roberts. Your team goes right. Major Walker, your team, AE-2, and I will continue straight."

"Right sir. Chief take the lead." Jack said as MacKay went at the front as Jack and Rachel followed behind with Ian and the back. The dark cave tunnels filled with smoke were not a good position to be in. They seemed to be heading further down and soon found themselves in a large cavern.

They were in a very exposed area with them having the lower ground in the cavern. There was raised landing that he could bairly at the other side of the cavern. Jack had that feeling that something was not quite right.

Suddenly wraith stunner blasts started to be fired from the other side of the cavern and the teeam quickly headed for cover behind rocks or any other ocover they could find.

=^=Colonel Tenjin, this is Captain Roberts. We have been engaged by wraith weapons fire in a large cavern and are sitting ducks in our current position. Please advise.=^= Jack said as the quickly got to prone and got his M249 ready on its stand to return fire.

"Figures we're the largest group and we're the ones that don't get attacked." Walker said quietly to Lieutenant Kelly.

With the exception of the few people at the front of the group everyone turned to face the Colonel to see what he would order them to do.
